Betty Beckett

April 10, 1924 — August 9, 2017

Betty Grace Beckett, 93 of Greensburg, passed away August 9, 2017 at Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg.  She was born April 10, 1924 in Greensburg a daughter of the late Howard Ellis and Grace (Rose) Hite.

Betty was a loving and devoted caregiver and homemaker to her family.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Greensburg for over 30 years where she participated in the fellowship class and the Young at Heart group.  Betty was loved by all and she touched many hearts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years,  Clarence Lee Beckett; a son, Robert Lee Beckett, a daughter, Jean Beckett-Hackbart; two brothers, Melvin and Leo Hite and a sister, Naomi Hite.

She is survived by her loving son, Donald E. Beckett and his wife Debra (Mauro) Beckett of Plum; seven grandchildren, Sharon Hackbart, Beth Bostrom, David Hackbart, Douglas Beckett and wife Cassy, Michael Beckett and wife Nicole, Steven Beckett and wife Nicky, and Bradley Beckett and wife Amanda; ten great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Hackbart, Naomi Hackbart, Joshua Bostrom, Jonah Bostrom, Isabella Bostrom, McKayla and Lucas Beckett, Iasaac Hackbart, Vivian Beckett and Camden Beckett; a sister, Sara Jane Hite-Guillaume of Dallas, TX; a daughter in law, Mary Jo Beckett, a son in law, James Hackbart and wife Carol and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg. Betty’s funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 am in the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1228 Brinkerton Road, Greensburg, with Dr. Cliff Hockensmith officiating.  Everyone please go directly to the church.  Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East Street, New York, NY 10016.   For online condolences and information, please visit www.kepplegraft.com.
