Daniel D. Shevchik, 99, of Springboro, Ohio, formerly of Greensburg and St. Petersburg, Fla., died Saturday, April 16, 2016. He was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Mary Shevchik. Dan received a degree in accounting and commercial law from the Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. He worked at Overly Manufacturing Company in Greensburg, as treasurer and assistant secretary from 1941 until he retired in 1979. He was active in the National Association of Accountants and various investment clubs. Dan was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church in Greensburg and served as treasurer for 50 years. He was an associate member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, St. Petersburg, Fla. Dan was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Greensburg Country Club and the Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club. He also was a frequent traveler and loved bowling and dancing. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Aldine Chizmar Shevchik, and his four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by two children, Daniel and wife, Julie, of Wilton, Conn., and Joanne Shevchik Letsche, of Springboro, Ohio; three grandchildren, Eric Letsche and wife, Julie, Jennifer DeBusk and husband, Greg, and Daniel J. Shevchik and wife, Sarah; 11 great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, in the funeral home, followed by entombment in St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.
