Marcella (Marcy) Kelley Brown, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 15th at the Oktibbeha Hospital in Starkville, MS. She was comforted by her loving daughter Kate.  A native of Greensburg, PA, Marcy was born on July 1, 1924. She was the daughter of Ella Bates Kelley and Congressman Augustine B. Kelley.  Marcy was a graduate of Trinity College in Washington, D.C. where she met and married her adoring husband Henry B. Brown, Jr. in 1948. After spending the next 20 years raising her family in Washington, DC, the family spent the next 17 years in Mechanicsburg, PA. Marcy and Henry moved to Florida in 1985.  Henry passed away in 1992 while they were living in Palm Coast. She lived alone for the next five years, but since 1997 the matriarch of the Brown family spent her days living with her sons and her daughter for months at a time in Winter Garden and Anna Maria, Florida and Pittsburgh, PA and more recently Starkville, MS.  Marcy was well known for her sharp mind. She enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles, soduku, Jeopardy, and more recently the game show channel word games. She was an avid reader and an exceptional bridge player. She loved talking politics and religion and watched Mass daily on EWTN.  In 1965, Marcy took up the game of golf and immediately became hooked. Her brothers, particularly Paul, Jim, and Hil would marvel over the quality of her golf game. Over the years, she was active in several ladies leagues as a player and organizing tournaments and events. She played regularly until the age of 89.  In 1979, when youngest son Greg began working for the Pittsburgh Pirates, she became the team’s most loyal fan for the next 37 years. She never missed a broadcast. In fact, she passed away while covered with her Pirate blanket.  She was also well known for her daily martini, which made happy hour the real thing if you were lucky enough to be with her at 5:00.  Besides her husband, Marcy was predeceased by brothers Regis, Richard, Robert, Hilary, and Paul and sister Kathleen Schellenberg. She also lost a son, Hilary, at birth in 1957.  She is survived by a sister, Theresa “TEK" Leisy of Atlanta, a brother James R. Kelley of Greensburg, PA and a sister-in-law Marie T (Regis) Kelley of Maryland.  She is also survived by her six sons: Kelley (Darlene), Hank (Elaine), Frank (Chuckie), Charlie (Alise), Pat “Packer” (Joanne) and Greg (Kim); and her daughter Kate (Rick) Humphrey. She was adored and admired by her 14 grandchildren Jeremy (Maryam), Susan (Kent) Reese, Greg, Blaise (Christine), Matt, Frankie, Tim, Lizzie, Kathleen, Michael, Amy, Julie, Luke, and Ryan and 2 great grandchildren Charlotte and Reza. She also enjoyed step-grandchildren Connie, Will, and Lizzy Humphrey and Michael (Susan) Northrip and step-great-grandchildren Patrick and Hattie Northrip.  Visitation will be private. Marcella’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 North Main Street, Greensburg, PA.
