Martha "Marty" Jane Baker, 94, of Greensburg passed away peacefully on 3rd June 2009... .., in New Haven Court at Lindwood, Hempfield Twp. Born May 15, 1915 in Blacklick Township, Indiana County, she was the daughter of Daniel and Amanda (Kinter) Dunlap. She received a bachelor's degree from IUP that enabled her to pursue the career she loved, teaching young children. As such, she had a positive impact on children in the school districts of Blacklick Township, Franklin Regional and Jeanette, as well as her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Zion's Lutheran Church, the Westmoreland Hospital Unit 10, Greensburg College Club, Chesamac Garden Club and several bridge groups. Marty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Elwood "Woody" S. Baker, her parents, and two brothers, Claire Dunlap of Latrobe and Warren Dunlap of Blacklick. She is survived by her son, Richard Baker and wife Cheryl of Greensburg, her daughter Jeanine McGrath and husband Edward of New Jersey , four grandchildren; Colleen (McGrath) Povia, and husband Joe, Kevin Mc Grath, Bryan Baker, and David Baker and wife Ashley and two great-grandchildren; Michael and Zachary Povia, a sister Della Harmon and husband Paul and a sister in law Hazel Suder and husband Jack. Family and friends were extremely important to Marty throughout her 94 years of giving, teaching and loving. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family will be received on Monday from (Noon) 12:00 to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home 524 N. Main St., Greensburg.
