Nancy Truxal

January 2, 1930 — February 11, 2017

Nancy J. Tobin Truxal, 87, of Delmont, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She was born on January 2, 1930 in Titusville, PA, a daughter of the late Edwin G. and Marian Wallen Tobin.  Nancy was a charter member of Maplewood United Presbyterian Church, Greensburg and most recently attended Delmont Presbyterian Church.

Nancy was a retired Music Educator who graduated from Titusville High in 1947 and received a BS of Music Education from Indiana State Teachers College.  Nancy touched the lives of thousands of students in the Philipsburg Area, Millersburg Area, New Wilmington and Greensburg Salem Schools, where she directed scores of concerts, in addition to 18 Broadway Musicals.  During her career, she served as Choir Director for Maplewood U.P. Church and Greensburg United Church of Christ, both in Greensburg.

Nancy was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling about the world for many years and especially cherished her time as a Florida snowbird.  Her love of family and grandchildren drew her back to the area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Warner Tobin and his wife Lois.

Nancy’s cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, including her devoted husband of 64 years, Carl R. Truxal, whom she married June 8, 1952; her three loving and caring children, David C. Truxal and his wife Debbie of Pittsburgh, Steven J. Truxal, Sr. and his wife Karen of Greensburg and Susan L. McLeod and her husband Dale of Murrysville; her seven adoring grandchildren, Christina Truxal of Pittsburgh, Ashley Truxal of Oakland, CA, Dr. Steven Truxal, Jr. of London, UK, Adam N. Truxal of Greensburg, Carly McLeod of Pittsburgh, Allison Storm and her husband Eric of Bridgeville and Ian McLeod of Delmont; her humble brother, Edwin G. Tobin and his wife Joy of St. Petersburg, FL; along with very special nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  Nancy’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Caroline Vickery officiating.  Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park.
