Orison Mclean

April 6, 1922 — February 2, 2016

Orison Shaffer McLean, PhD, 93, of Greensburg, formerly from Monroeville, PA, peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 with family by his side.  Devoted wife, Norma B. McLean, preceded him in death.  Orison is survived by son, Orison McLean, Jr; daughter, Nancy and her husband, Richard Brickley, MD; and son-in-law Michael Cox, formerly married to deceased daughter, Susan.  He will also be greatly missed by his loving grandchildren, Julie and husband Mark, Matthew and wife Kristin, Michelle, Brian, Mack, and Elizabeth, and his adorable great-grandsons, Mason, Axel, Austin, and Mack.  Orison is also survived by brother and sister-in-laws, Carroll and Elaine Bailey; and nieces and nephews.  Orison cherished and adored his family.  A career clinical psychologist for the VA, Orison is credited for improving mental health care for veterans through exercise; belonged to the Monroeville United Methodist Church; loved to play bridge and poker; was an Eagle Scout; and served in World War II.  A celebration honoring Orison's life will be held at noon on Saturday, February 6, in the Redstone Highlands Chapel in Greensburg.  Memorials for Orison may be sent to Redstone Benevolent Care, 126 Mathews Street, Suite 2800, Greensburg, PA  15601.  Terence L.
