Robert Joseph Bronder, 81, of Greensburg (Hempfield Township) died Monday, November 13, 2017 in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born on July 2, 1936 in Greenville, a son of the late Victor John and Johanna Theresa Granfield Bronder. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Youngwood. As a proud Marine he served as a private first class during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked as a superintendent for Kukurin Contracting of Delmont. In his earlier years, he liked to golf. Robert enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and he was a fan of the Steelers and Pirates. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannette S. Howick Bronder; and 2 sisters, Imelda Bronder and Mary Theresa Stallman. Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Appleby Bronder; daughters, Mary Bowen of Latrobe, Dr. Barbara Nikolajczyk (David) of Lexington, KY and Lisa Mumau of Jeannette; a son, John Bronder of Greensburg; brothers, William Bronder of California and Victor Bronder of Texas; a sister, Jane Clark of Louisiana; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Prayers of transfer will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 am followed by Robert’s funeral mass at 11 am in Holy Cross Parish Church, 711 Depot Street, Youngwood. Private interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Semper Fi Odyssey, 450 Boy Scout Road, Boswell, PA 15531.
