Walter Prettiman

February 7, 1933 — July 11, 2016

Walter H. Prettiman, 83, of Delmont, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born February 7, 1933 in Greensburg, a son of the late Sherman and Margaret (Wolfe) Prettiman.

Walter was a member of Greensburg Alliance Church. He was employed at Kroger's Supermarket, Shop & Save, owned Prettiman's Thrifty Market in West Newton, and owned Prettiman's Market in Jeannette.  Upon retiring from TSI Machine Shop in Latrobe, he drove truck part time for L&S Machine Company in Latrobe.

He was a member of  Masonic Lodge 518, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and the Youngwood A & B Club.

Walt enjoyed driving cross country, boating, water skiing, hunting and especially relaxing at Deep Creek Lake. He will be best known for his smile, laugh, and love of life. Our Wally will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Holtzer) Prettiman; four brothers, Bill, Al, Murph, and Clair Prettiman; sister, Etta Mae Trout.

Walter is survived by his children, Mark Prettiman and wife, Barb (Roberta), Greg Prettiman and Terry, Daniel Nobile and wife Michele all of Greensburg, Lisa McCracken and husband, Ed of Austin, TX, Mark Nobile and wife, Colleen of Unity; sisters Donna Orsinger and Lois Moore and husband, Jack all of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Mandy, Mara, Zachary, Nicholas and Alissa; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

A Masonic service provided by members of Masonic Lodge 518 will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:45pm.

Additional visitation will be held Friday at the Greensburg Alliance Church 4428 PA 136, Greensburg, PA 15601 from 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am with Rev. Dr. Roy Dail officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greensburg Alliance Church.
