Adam A Fennell, 93, of Greensburg peacefully passed away on October 7, 2013 in Norristown.
Adam was born in Nanty Glo on December 10, 1919 and graduated from Greensburg High School. Adam served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and married Helen Gertrude Duffus on August 4, 1942. Adam and Helen spent most of their married life in Greensburg. After 64 years of marriage, Helen died on October 13, 2006. After his wife's death Adam moved to be with his son and his family in 2007.
He worked for Bell of Atlantic in Pittsburgh for over 40 years. He was very active member in his church, Westminster Presbyterian where he was a Deacon, the church Treasurer for over 33 years and sang in the choir. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his friends and family. He also had a framing business for over 10 years after retiring and he had served on the Board of Directors for the Redstone Presbyterian Home, Treasurer for Kidsandcars.org, and volunteered for many organizations, including the Westmoreland Hospital.
Adam is preceded in death by his parents, Ira Clifford and Helen Seanor Fennell, his beloved wife, Helen and his brother Clifford Seanor Fennell.
He is survived by his son, Greig and his wife Janette, and his two grandchildren, Alexander and Noah and a sister Dorothy.
Family and friends will be received at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg on Sunday from noon till 4 pm. Services will be held on Monday at 10am in the Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Donna Havrisko officiating.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Adam over the past six years.
