Alberta John

Alberta Garris John, 88, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, in Hempfield Manor. She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late Oliver R. and Alice Harrold Garris. Alberta was a member of the South Greensburg United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Leroy F. John, in 1994; stepson, Leroy H. John, in 1974; and her seven sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Jean) John, Terry (Bonnie) John, Randy (Vivian) John, Darlene Ottenberg and companion, Jim Cheplick, Kim (Bob) Trout, Eric (Valerie) John, Henry (Michelle) John and Jason (Jayne) John; 21 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and her stepdaughter, Sheila (John) Hojnik. Due to the pandemic, the viewing and services for the family have been requested to be private. Entombment will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the South Greensburg United Methodist Church, 411 Sheridan Ave. Greenbsurg, PA 15601.
