Alice Ruth Haines Herd, 94 of Greensburg died Saturday 3/15/2014 in the Easy Living Estates. She was born in Greensburg on 9/15/1919 and was the daughter of the late William and Sara E. Klingensmith Haines. Alice was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Jack Edward Herd.
She was a retired employee of the J C Penny Company.
Alice is survived by her son Ronald E. (Nancy) Herd of Mechanicsburg and a daughter Jacqueline R. Spanner of Parkersburg, W Va. And three grandchildren Gregory Herd of San Diego, Ca., Thomas Herd of Landisburg and Kristina Herd of Enola along with five great grandchildren.
Honoring Alice's wishes there will no public visitation. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1 pm in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to one's favorite charity.
