Allen Tedrow

Allen W. Tedrow, 93 of Greensburg, passed away, Saturday, November 123, 2013 at Westmoreland Excela Hospital.

He was born November 26, 1919 a son of the late Harry and Martha Ann (McIlvain) Tedrow.

He was Lutheran by faith. Allen was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was the first Commander of Post 981 American Legion in South Greensburg. Until his retirement, he employed by Elliot Company in Jeannette and taught at Elliot Training Center in Greensburg.

Allen was an avid gardener and spent many years enjoying his hobby.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lillian in 2000 and his brother, Paul Gene Tedrow in 1980.

He is survived by a daughter, Judith L. Humphrey and her husband, David of Greensburg and a son, Allen W. Tedrow Jr., and his wife, Dawn of Youngwood. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jessica L. Fullman and her husband, Douglas of Greensburg, Kathleen E. Tedrow and fiancee, Matt Healey of Greensburg and James A. Tedrow of Pittsburgh and a great granddaughter, Bella Fullman.

The family would like to acknowledge Walnut Ridge Memory Care for their assistance in Allen's care and the nursing staff at Westmoreland Excela Hospital and Heartland Hospice during his final days.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 North Main Street Greensburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11am with Rev. Martin Wright from Heartland Hospice.

Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park with military honors provided by American Legion Post 981 of South Greensburg.
