Andrew Makar

Andrew “Andy” Makar, 90, of Greensburg, PA, passed away on September 16, 2023. He was born on November 27, 1932. Andy served in the Army in Korea from 1953 to 1955.

Andy was a dedicated barber and owned Makar's Barber Shop. He took pride in his craft and was well-known for his impeccable skills and friendly demeanor.

In his free time, Andy enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid follower of the Steelers. He found joy in the strategic aspects of the game and loved supporting his favorite football team.

Andy is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three children, Rod Makar and his Fiancé Tina Zedlar, John Makar and his wife, Tracy, and Scott Makar and his wife, Tonya. He was a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, Spencer, Tanner, Sydney, Elijah, and Ty.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Makar, and his mother, Antonette Makar.

Andy worshipped at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.

There will be no visitation and services will be private.
