Ann Dickerson

April 24, 1926 — April 16, 2015

Elizabeth Ann (Watson) Dickerson, 88, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in her home after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mourning her loss is her husband, W. Logan Dickerson; and daughter, Linda Ann Dickerson.
Originally from Uniontown, Ann was a working partner with her husband at their construction and manufacturing company, which specialized in pre-stressed concrete. She had also been involved in animal breeding companies in Westmoreland County since 1970. Ann, along with her husband, Logan, are the owners of Lindwood Standardbred Horse Farm in Hempfield Township.
She was a graduate of West Virginia University in 1948 with a degree in home economics and biology and was part of the homecoming court. Ann liked to sew and cook, and her family was grateful to her for developing fine culinary skills. She loved animals, and the family always had at least one dog and cat in their home near Greensburg. While Ann was primarily a dog lover, she cherished her horses and rode most weekends with her husband for the majority of her married life. Ann was also an avid gardener, and she enjoyed music and dancing. Her other hobbies included swimming, tennis and horseback riding. She and Logan enjoyed business and pleasure traveling which covered all states and five continents.
A loving and caring wife and mother, Ann made it possible for her daughter, Linda, who has a rare neuromuscular disease, to be the first student in a wheelchair to graduate from Greensburg Salem High School, and ultimately attain her master's degree. Ann and Logan were happily married for 65 years.
In addition to her beloved husband and daughter, Ann is survived by a brother, Frederick "Ted" Watson, of South Carolina; and a brother-in-law, James G. Darby, of New York. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jane (Watson) Darby and Donald Watson.
A celebration to honor Ann's life is being planned and will be held at the family farm in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to OSPTA Hospice (www.osptainc.com) or Alzheimer's Research (www.alzfdn.org).
Arrangements have been entrusted to the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Terence L. Graft, funeral director. Please visit www.kepplegraft.com to offer a message of condolence.
