Ann Irene Rapach Lauffer was born July, 13, 1926, in Victoria, Pa. She moved to Bovard in 1931. She graduated from Greensburg High School and worked at Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh as a junior draftsman. She later worked at Bon Ton in sales and bookkeeping. She was married July 11, 1951, to Eugene Edward Lauffer, son of Natalie Salvatore Lauffer and Clifford Lauffer. They moved to Bennettsville, S.C., in 1965. She enjoyed crafts, reading and painting. Her happy place was at the beach. Ann spent her last 20 years in Rock Hill, S.C. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lauffer; parents, Mary Samudovsky Rapach and Michael Rapach; and brothers, Michael Rapach, John Rapach, Andy Rapach and George Rapach. She is survived by two sons, Gene and Margi Lauffer, of Columbia, S.C., and Michael and Sheila Lauffer, of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Mikki and Joe Huss of Kirtland, Ohio, and Nikki and Charles Neely, of Rock Hill, S.C.; six grandchildren, Greg Huss, Amy Huss, Kayleigh Lauffer, Jeffrey Lauffer, Caroline Lauffer and Neely Bennett Lauffer; great-grandchildren; special niece, Mary Jane Papuga; and caregiver and friend Linda Stephenson. Thank you to the nurses and staff of Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in providing comfort for our beloved mother. Family and friends will gather from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, followed with a prayer service at 2 p.m. with Father Regis Dusecina as celebrant.
