Anthony J. Licata

Anthony “Tony” James Licata, Jr. passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2024, at Atrium Health High Point Medical Center.

Born on July 13, 1948, in Greensburg, PA, to the late Anthony James, Sr. and Amelia E. Gasperin Licata, Tony dedicated 22 years of his career to Amerimax before retiring. He was a devoted member of St. Joseph of the Hill Catholic Church. Tony proudly served in the United States Army as a combat medic, where he earned the highest distinction for his commitment and bravery. A distinguished honor graduate of the Class of 1966 at Greensburg Central Catholic School, he continued to embody excellence throughout his life.

Tony was also an active member of the NRA, a charter member of the Fox Hill Barbell Club, and a lifelong member of Delta Phi Kappa Fraternity at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. His passion for martial arts was evident in his achievements as a second-degree black belt and instructor, during which he ran his own karate studio for many years in Greensburg, PA.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lois Myers Licata; sister-in-law, Ruth Smith; brother-in-law, Terry Smith; nieces and nephew, John H. Smith (Sara), Melissa S. Coppage (William), and Samantha S. Lineberry (Michael); nine great-nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Tiger and Sensei.

Family and friends will be recieved on Friday, November 1 from 12pm to 1pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral literagy will be held on Friday at 1pm in the funeral home followed by burial with military honors at Twin Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, 139 Humane Society Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601, or to a charity of your choice.
