Arthur Holbrook

April 29, 1927 — June 27, 2012

Arthur P. Holbrook , 85, of Irwin passed away peacefully on June 27, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born on April 29, 1927 at Fort Banks, Mass and was the son of the late Lt. Col. Paul E. and Elizabeth R. (Kortenatis) Holbrook.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother, retired Major Robert Holbrook.

He lived his life to the fullest serving 33 years of military service including US Army-Air Corp, Army, Air Force, Army National Guard and retired as a Captain.

His life revolved around service to family, friends, neighbors, his country and God. He spent the majority of his career with Bombardier ( formerly Westinghouse Transportation) retiring as site manager of British Airport Operations.

During his retirement he enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and as a Stephen and Lay Eucharistic Minister.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Carroll (Lucas) Holbrook and a son Douglas E. Holbrook and wife Diane, a daughter Dawn S. Wright and her husband Martin. Seven grandchildren, Rachel Holbrook Koontz and husband Rick, Lucas Holbrook and wife Amanda, Adam Wright, Jacob Wright, Joe Wright, Abigail Wright, Titus Wright and one great grandchild Landon Paul Holbrook.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home,( an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am at the Christ Church, 145 N. Main Street, Greensburg with Deacon Gretchen Peske as celebrant. ( Please go directly to the church).

Interment will be held in the Arlington National Cemetery.
