Barry Hillman

Barry R. Hillman, 60, of Forbes Road, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Oakland Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on March 7, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of Thomas E. and Norma Jean Mowry Hillman. He was a US veteran, serving 25 years with the Army as a supply sergeant. Prior to retirement in 2013, he was head of security at Allegheny Ludlum, Latrobe. Barry trained first responders and was certified in confined space rescue and was involved with the American Red Cross. Also, he was a former police officer in Lexington, Ohio and a public notary. He once served as den leader, council member and district commissioner with the Boy Scouts of America, Westmoreland-Fayette Council. His sons fondly remember him being involved with the scout's father/son cake bakes and the soap box derbies. Barry enjoyed fishing and hunting and his other interests included leathercraft, bird watching and CB operator. He was the family historian, handyman and mechanic. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Hull Hillman; 4 sons, Rob Hillman (Rachelle), of Latrobe, Timothy Edward Hillman (Tina) of Bradenton, FL, Jonathan Hillman (Jennifer) of Murrysville and Shawn Michael Hillman (Alexis) of Derry; a brother, Geoffrey Alan Hillman of Ashland, OH and a sister, Tammy Elaine Hillman of Mansfield, OH; also, 6 grandchildren, Devon, Autumn, Kylie, Maddison, LeAnna and Aiden Hillman; and Adriana Hillman, who will be arriving soon. Friends and family will received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Barry's funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment will be held on Thursday in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westmoreland-Fayette, B.S.A., 2 Garden Center Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601 or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, River Walk Corporate Center, 333 E.
