Berl K. Yeskey, Sr., 88 of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Oak Hill Nursing Center.
He was born August 21, 1921 in South Greensburg, a Son of the late Henry and Florence (Jaynes) Yeskey.
Berl served in the Army during WW II with the 317th infantry 80th division.
He was a retired employee of the Brown-Boveri Plant in South Greensburg.
Berl was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 60 years and the South Greensburg American Legion post #981.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Lee Yeskey, three brothers Clyde, Frank, and Donald Yeskey and a sister Florence Yeskey.
Surviving are his loving wife, Alyce (Clawson) Yeskey , Daughter, Betsy Yancey and husband William of South Greensburg, Son, Berl K. Yeskey and wife Nancy of Greensburg, Four grandchildren, Kimberly Strashensky and husband John, Todd Yancey and wife Tricia, Justin Yeskey, and Deanna Yeskey, and a Great-Grandson, Joseph Strashensky,and Great-Granddaughter, Ella Yancey.
Family and friends will be received Sunday 1-3 & 5-7 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main St., Greensburg.
A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home, on Monday, at 1 PM with Rev. Dr. Duane Morford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park with full Military Honors accorded by the South Greensburg American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, NKF of the Alleghenies, Inc., 700 5th Ave. FL 4, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-3017..
