Bernadine Bash Fisher 92 died peacefully June 10, 2024 at Redstone Highlands Murrysville, PA. The daughter of the late Roy Alonzo and Elsie (Dick) Bash she was born January 18, 1932 in Green Township, Indiana County. Bernadine attended Indiana College and graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She later attended Penn University where she earned her master’s degree. Bernadine was a teacher at Hempfield Area High School and became head of the Home Economics Department. She was active in the American Field Service Organization and Greensburg College Club. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Greensburg. Bernadine enjoyed cooking, sewing, golfing, and traveling with her friends. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family especially Friday night dinners in Indiana PA and the Bash reunion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Fisher; her parents; her four sisters, Marsha Bash, Florence Blair, Twila Douglas, and Rowena Gregg; and her three brothers, John, Wayne, and Paul Bash.
Bernadine is survived by her stepdaughter, Linda Fisher Bennett (James) of Greensburg and her stepson, Richard Gregg Fisher (Beverly) of Lacey, Washington and three step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Bennett (Priscilla) of Orchard Park, NY, Jody Manus (Shaun) of Lake Lore, NC, and Laura Fisher (fiancé Austin) of Olympia, WA and two great-grandchildren, William Bennett and Andrew Bennett. In addition Bernadine is survived by her five nephews, Robert Bair (Marlene) of Union City, PA, Jack Bash (Virginia) of DuBois, PA, Harold Douglas (Phyllis) of Kittanning, PA, LeRoy Gregg (Patty) of West Virginia, John Gregg (Lynne) of Utah and seven nieces, Virginia Bash of Indiana, Pa, Janice Mohr (Bill) of Georgia, Elaine Berringer (George) of Sebring, FL, Bonnie Griffith of Lucerne, PA, Christine Williams (Roy) of Texas, Freda Bair of Georgia, Jean (Todhunter) Bash of Glen Campbell, PA. She is also great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 501 Fairfield Drive, Greensburg, PA on June 19th at 11am with Pastor Paul Gruesu officiating.
