Betty Ruth Jaynes, 90, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2010 at Oak Hill Nursing Home, Greensburg. Born September 10, 1919, Betty Ruth was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Mumaw of Hopwood, PA. Betty Ruth was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and watching the Pirates. Betty Ruth and her late husband Ralph enjoyed traveling, and visited every covered bridge in the US. Betty Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensburg, and a past member of the Daughters of America, a branch of the Jr. Order of United American Mechanics Lodge #169. Besides her parents, Betty Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her daughter Beth Ann (Jaynes) Bartley, her sisters Francis Mumaw and Margaret Hoenstein, and brother Lloyd (Bud) Mumaw. Betty Ruth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Tom Carnes, her son-in-law Jim Bartley, granddaughters Lisa (Bill) Armstrong and Jennifer (Chris) McCool, and her great-grandchildren Emma and Sam McCool, all from Greensburg. Betty Ruth is also survived by her second family Jim, Char, Nick, and Nathaniel Przybylek who have adopted Betty Ruth as their own. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Betty Ruth from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday in KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, where services will be held on Saturday at 9a.m with the Rev. Dr. Duane Morford officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg, PA. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Oak Hill Nursing Home who tirelessly took care of both her and the family.
