Beverly Jeanne "Bev" Gilson, 80, of Penn Township, died Friday, July 3, 2015, in William Penn Care Center, Penn Township, surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Marion County, Iowa, a daughter of the late Coline Reynolds. On Sept. 15, 1956, she wed her beloved, Robert W. Gilson, with whom she had 55 years of marriage.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette. Bev graduated from Sacred Heart Nursing School in Spokane, Wash. She briefly worked as a nurse before starting and raising a family.
In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and her sister-in-law, Virginia Gilson. Bev is survived by her daughter, Sharla Gilson, of Saltsburg, and her partner, Jimmy McGee; and her son, Robert Gilson Jr., of Trafford; her daughter-in-law, Debby Svek, of North Huntington; a brother, Craig Reynolds, of Lewiston, Idaho; her brother-in-law, Harold Gilson, of Detroit, Mich.; nephews, Steve Gilson (Cathy) and Ray Gilson (Sharon); a niece, Linda Belokonny (Dave); as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews. Bev had a gift for loving and living and her smile will be missed.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette, 314 Bullitt Ave., Jeannette, PA 15644. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
