Brady Washabau

January 26, 1922 — August 21, 2011

Brady M. Washabau, Jr., 89, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Greensburg Care Center after a short illness. Mr. Washabau was one of six children of Brady M. Washabau, Sr., and Hulda Bowman Washabau of Greensburg. He was a graduate of Greensburg High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy. Mr. Washabau was a crew dispatcher for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail until his retirement in 1982.

Mr. Washabau was actively involved in various faith organizations in Greensburg and surrounding communities for most of his life. He served as an Associate Pastor at the Full Gospel Church in Greensburg from 1975-2000. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship and served as its President from 1967-1972. For the past six years, he was an active member of Alpha Ministries Church in Greensburg.

Mr. Washabau was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Anna Jane (Kinkead) Washabau. He is survived by three children, Dr. David R. Washabau and wife, Karen, of Flagstaff, AZ., Elizabeth A. Washabau, of Greensburg, and Dr. Robert J. Washabau and wife, Rosalie Kreider, of St. Paul, MN and West Chester, PA, two grandsons, Ethan J. Washabau and Noah B. Washabau of West Chester, and brothers Claude of Largo, FL, Drew (Frances), and Wade (Shirley) Washabau all of Greensburg.

Family and Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Friday from 10 am to noon. Services will follow immediately in the funeral home at noon with Rev. James Lyons officating. Interment will be held in the St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one's favorite charities in the Greensburg community.
