Charles W. Morgan, 95, of Greensburg, died, Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Westmoreland Manor. He was born in Washington, PA on June 27, 1928, the first son of the late Charles F. Morgan and Helen Wilson Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Betty; great granddaughter, Alexandra Wilson; twin grandsons, Thomas and Joshua Steele; brother, Gary Morgan; brothers-in-law, Arthur Miller, David Atkinson and Jim Thompson. He is survived by his children, Jane Yaksic (Ted), Carol Slater (Mike) and Russell Morgan (Marie); sisters, Mildred Miller, Shirely Atkinson and Elsa Thompson; sister-in-law, Lois Morgan; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; also, several nieces and nephews. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. Charles, known as Wilson to family and Charley and Chuck to friends and associates, went to Coyne Electrical School in Chicago after high school. On December 19, 1948, Wilson married Betty M. Mansfeld. Years later, he graduated from California State Teachers College, with a B.S. degree in Earth Space Science. Wilson then worked for Permali as a quality control engineer, Koppers Research, Owens Manufacturing and Reliance Mine Safety. Most knew Wilson (Chuck) as an avid hunter with many trips to Colorado and Montana. He never really retired as he became owner and operator of Orchard Hill Animal Supply. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 10 am to the hour of service at 11 am, at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Martin Ankrum. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
