Charles Rankin

April 12, 1927 — November 11, 2009

Charles W."Bill" Rankin, 82 of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born April 12, 1927 in Hopwood, a Son of the late Charles Albert and Sylvia Josephine (Whoolery) Rankin.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II and the Korean War.
Prior to retirement he was a Supervisor for Bell Telephone Co. and was Founder and CEO of the Kinton Carbide Co. in Export.

He was a member of the McKeesport Masonic Lodge, Bell Telephone Pioneers of America and the White Oak American Legion post # 711.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly A. Rankin , Son Brent Rankin (2009)and Daughter-in-law Jill Rankin.

Surviving are his Son Patrick Rankin of Elizabeth Township, and Two Grandsons, Patrick and Tanner Rankin.

Private funeral arrangements with no public visitation and interment will be in the Hillview Cemetery, Greensburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Boulevard, Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 in Bill's memory.
