Dale Marion Poole, 74, of Greensburg, died, Thursday, August 12, 2021, in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Greensburg on June 12, 1947, a son of the late Earl Marion and Ethel M. Hays Poole. He was a very active member of Christ’s Church where he served as a Eucharist minister, reader and chalice bearer. He was a veteran and served as a sergeant with the Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a flooring specialist with Carpet Palace, Greensburg. Dale enjoyed playing bluegrass music and was a member of the former Family and Friends Bluegrass Band. He visited and played music for the residents of Weatherwood Manor twice a month and for the nursing home’s annual memorial service. He fed the various birds near his home and kept his 3 hummingbird feeders full. He loved fishing with his grandsons and spending time at Camp Liberty Bell, in Clinton County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Darwin, Duane and Dennis Poole. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wendy Graves Poole; daughter, Brenda Akins (Michael); 2 grandsons, Calvin and Austin Akins; brother, David Poole (Cathy); sisters-in-law, Perri Poole and BettyAnn Poole; also, numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Christ’s Church Greensburg, 145 North Main Street, Greensburg with Father Jeff Wylie officiating.
