Dale C. Topper, 80 formerly of Hunker, died Thursday, January, 15, 2015 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born September 2, 1934 in Greensburg, a son of the late Willis Wayne Topper and Alice Johnston Topper Charley.
Prior to retirement, he was a crane operator for US Steel Edgar Thompson Works, Braddock. He was also a farmer, raising beef cattle and growing produce, which he sold to local area grocery stores. Dale loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandsons. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed taking walks. Dale was also a member of various farming and social clubs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon E. Harr Topper in 1976; a son, Dale R. Topper in 2006; son-in-law, Brian M. Trout in 2012; and two brothers, Ronald and Wayne Topper.
Dale is survived by his 3 daughters, Denise L. Trout, Debbie Mickey (Curt), both of Greensburg and Doris J. Chaffee (Steve) of Youngwood; 3 sisters, Alice "Louise" Parks of Greensburg, Carol Wright (Ray) and Becky Hammer (Don), both of Shirley, IN.; his grandchildren, Sharon Markovich (Mylo) and Brian J. Trout (Amanda); his 2 great grandsons, Mylo and Brian Markovich "the boys"; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery.
