Daniel V. Crowell, Jr., 94, of Greensburg, died, Friday, December 17, 2021, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born in Greensburg on September 26, 1927, a son of the late Daniel V. Crowell, Sr., and Muriel M. Moran Crowell. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed excavator. He helped establish and was a member and former fire chief of North Hempfield Volunteer Fire Department. He helped form, was a paramedic and ran ambulance for Mutual Aid EMS of Greensburg. Daniel loved to hunt and bowl and was a member of Hillview Lanes, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Maxwell Crowell; 2 sisters, Henrietta Rutledge and Ann Crowell . He is survived by his son Daniel V. Crowell (Janet) of Miami, Florida; 2 daughters, Debra L. Brunken of Leechburg and Christine Merringer (John) of Bryn Mawr ; 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; also, 2 nephews, 1 niece and 1 great nephew. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral service for Daniel will be held on Tuesday at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
