David S. Jamison, Sr., 90, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Anne Home.
He was born June 18, 1920 in Greensburg, son of the late Jay Curtis and May Brown Jamison.
Mr. Jamison attended Shady Side Academy, Exeter Academy, and graduated from Princeton University. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged with a rank of leuitenat.
He was emplyed at Jamison Coal & Coke Co., South Union Coal Co., and Unity Real Estate Co. Being an avid golfer, he was a long time member of Oakmont Country Club, Rolling Rock, Pike Run, and Hannastown Country Clubs.
In addition to his parents Mr. Jamison was preceeded in death by his wife, Suzanne Daugherty Jamison; two elder brothers, Jay Curtis Jamison and Will Brown Jamison.
He is survived by his four sons, David Stewat Jamison of Apollo; Douglas McKelvey Jamison of Venetia, PA, Michael Hart Jamison of Arvada, Co. and Bruce Daugherty Jamison of Greensburg as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and his sister, Margaret Brown Jamison of Greensburg.
Family and friends will be recieved on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in Christ's Church 145 N. Main St. Greensburg, with Rev. Lawrence Knotts officiating.
Private interment will take place in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a charity of one's choice in memory of David S. Jamison.
