David Daniel Wentzel, 87 of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born December 23, 1925 in Youngwood, and was the son of the late Alfred H.and Gladys Hoyle Wentzel .
Dan served in the Navy during WW II aboard the USS Dufilho. He was a retired freight conductor with the Conrail Railroad.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg , the Westmoreland Masonic Lodge # 518 and the Youngwood VFW.
Dan enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing and the railroad retiree golf league.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Steele Wentzel and a sister, Marjorie Quartz.
Surviving are his son, David A. Wentzel, and a granddaughter Abbigale Wentzel of Greensburg and his sister, Beverly Evans of Murrysville along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Services will be held on Friday at First Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating.

Private interment with full military honors provided by VFW Post #33 will follow in the Middletown Methodist Cemetery, Hempfield Twp.
