Debra Barnett

Debra Rae (Shaffer) Barnett, 66, of Jeannette, passed away on September 26, 2022, after a brief battle with ovarian cancer. She was born June 12, 1956, in Tucson, AZ, the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Joanne (Miller) Shaffer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Albert and Helen Barnett.
Debra was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church in Greensburg. She was also a member of the Lincoln Heights Community Center where she enjoyed playing bingo. Prior to retirement, she worked for OPTUM 360 as a medical coding and billing specialist. Debra loved carrying on family traditions, which included spending time with her family, especially her grandson. She also enjoyed vacations at the beach. Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years, Dennis A. Barnett; her children, Drew M. Barnett (Aimee), Derk S. Barnett (Anne), Denae L. Pingley (Drew); her grandson, Braden Barnett; brother, Mark Shaffer (Marianne Elkin) aunt, Georgia Ferguson; sister-in-law, Debra K. Barnett; nephews Bryan Shaffer, Dane Shaffer; nieces, Kara Raygor, Alisha Natic and other family members. A memorial service for Debra will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 1st in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg, PA 15601. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church at the above address.
