Donald Bankosh

Donald Clarence "Smokey" Bankosh, 79 of Export, formerly of Slickville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 23, 2013 He was born October 18, 1933, a son of the late John and Mary (Duffalo) Bankosh. He attended Sloan School of Slickville. He was a union laborer/foreman out of Local 373 Pittsburgh for 35 years, retiring from Laborers Union 1451. He was an extremely hard-working man who enjoyed life and loved his children and grandchildren immensely. He was a member of various social clubs in the area and enjoyed Polka music and dancing. He was extremely proud of all his children's accomplishments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death four brothers, John, George, Albert and Richard; and his only sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Thompkins; and two grandsons, Kenny and Damon Bankosh. He is survived by his wife of 48 years,MaryAnn; ten children, Karen (Phil) Harrell; Beverly Hagood; Donald Bankosh, Jr; Kenny Bankosh; Donna Marie Miskar; Diana (Vince) Clark; Donald Charles (Kathleen) Bankosh; Denise (James) White; Daniel (Anissa) Bankosh; and David (Lisa) Bankosh; four step children; Roy, Frank and Joesph Sabelli; Antoinette (Tom) Pina; 31 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren,a brother, Tom "Turkey" Bankosh (Judy); and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-8 pm in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 North Main St, Greensburg where a Blessing service will be held Thursday at 10 am with Fr. Salvatore Lamendola. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
