With deep sorrow and immense gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Donald J. Sedlacko. A devoted husband, cherished father and grandfather, beloved brother, and loyal friend. Don departed this world peacefully on Nov. 14, 2024, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of his family. Don was born on July 22, 1947, in the small town of Hostetter, Pennsylvania, as the youngest of thirteen children to the late George and Josephine (Stranko) Sedlacko. Growing up in a lively household filled with the noise, love, and laughter of his siblings, Don learned early the importance of family, loyalty, and kindness. Though he was the baby of the family, his wisdom, warmth, and infectious humor made him a pillar of strength and support for all those around him. In his adult life, Don embraced the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He was an avid golfer and always looked forward to his golf trips in Myrtle Beach with his brothers and dear friends. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Above all, Don's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Laurel, and a loving father to his children, Donnie and Dvonya. He was especially proud of his grandchildrenMiles, Kallen, and Xavierand nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with them and watching them grow. Even as he fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, Don's love for his family was boundless, and his devotion to them never wavered. His strength, courage, and love for his family remained steadfast throughout his illness, and he passed away peacefully, comforted by the presence of those who meant the most to him. Don leaves behind a legacy of kindness and humor. His family, friends, and all who knew him will remember him for his generosity and his easygoing nature as he struck up conversations with strangers wherever he went. He was a man who cherished every moment and made those around him feel special and appreciated. Don is preceded in death by his parents, George B. and Josephine (Stranko) Sedlacko, his beloved siblings George (Dolores), Gervase (Florence), John, Benedict, Richard, Francis, Regina (Jack) Bridge, Steven (Faye), and his loving dogs Sadie and Tillie Mae.
