Donna Ruth Haines, age 75, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 4, 1948, to the late Francis C. Hauger and Norma Jean (Bagley) Hauger. Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensburg, where her faith and love for her community shone brightly.
Donna had a passion for music and was an esteemed member of the Westmoreland Choral Society. Music brought her much joy over the years. She found solace and creative expression through her needlepoint, and her skillful hands crafted beautiful works of art. Donna also had a love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places and cultures. She also loved bowling and relished the camaraderie it brought.
Before her well-deserved retirement, Donna dedicated her life to educating the children of the Latrobe School District as an elementary school teacher, leaving an indelible mark on countless young minds.
Donna is survived by her devoted husband, George E. Haines; her loving children, Heather and Adam Haines; her sister, Cheryl (Bill) Smith; sister-in-law, Gayle DiSalvo; nephews, Greg Smith and Don DiSalvo; her loving cat Roxy and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, located at 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. Donna's funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in St. Clair Cemetery.
In memory of Donna, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, a cause that was dear to her heart. Your support will help continue the fight against this devastating disease.
