E. Duane Wolley, 83, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born March 25, 1930, in Dodge City, Kan., son of the late William Henry and Clara Ione Hubbard Wolley. Duane earned his master's degree from Kansas State College and did post-graduate work at Purdue University. He was a member of I.E.E.E. and Rails to Trails. Duane loved traveling, tennis, skiing, hiking, spending time with friends and family and his cocker spaniel, Cupcake. He worked as a physicist for Westinghouse, General Electric and PowerEx.
In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Allen Matton.
He is survived by his friend and significant other, Mary Soukup; children, Susan Matton, of N.Y., Anne Vawser and husband, Steve, of Neb., and Steve Wolley and wife, Kristi, of C.O.; grandchildren, Kim and husband, Brad, Heather and Kara; and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Mason. Honoring Duane's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg.
