He, then, retired from PPG-Greensburg after 16 years. While in the Air Force, he enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball, in which, as a pitcher, he recorded several no-hitters. He enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator, growing gardens, mowing the fields and shooting groundhogs. He enjoyed target shooting with many friends, some of who were policeman, to sharpen their shooting skills. He enjoyed music and square dancing at the Alwine Civic Center with his special companion, Betty Kemerer. He enjoyed family get-togethers and holidays. Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gayle A. Graber Sarver, in 2012. They were married for 58 wonderful years! He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey.
