Elizabeth Hayes

On February 15, 2023, Elizabeth M. Hayes of Greensburg passed away peacefully, at the age of 98, as a result of an illness.

Elizabeth, known to many as Betty, loved life, her family and laughing.  She was a strong woman with a heart for caring and loving others.  Throughout her life, she was involved in service, including her participation as part of the congregation of Third United Church of Christ.  She loved reading and had editorials published in the Greensburg Tribune Review, much to her delight.  She had a wicked sense of humor, loved music, and frequently took to impromptu dancing, and verbalized the thought that one should have more than a single life so that other paths could also be experienced.

She is survived by her children, Bill, Kathy, Sue, Jerry and Beth, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elise Shepherd, her husband William G. Hayes, her brother, Robert Shepherd, and her son, Donald Hayes.

A time of gathering will be held at Kepple Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg, on April 1 from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a service of remembrance.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
