Elvira Francis Vallozzi-Swank, 60 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born February 7, 1950 in Hempfield Township, a Daughter of the late Ferdinand E.and Henrietta Lillian Vallozzi.

Elvira was a graduate of Hempfield Area High School class of 1968. She was the Co-founder of the Antique Rifle Works Gun and Archery Shop for 13 years. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant working in the field for 27 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Sylvester Vallozzi and sister Julia King.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas W. Swank Jr. and the following children: Susan M. Sumey and husband Newton of Grindstone, Cynthia M. Lishego and husband James Sr. of Greensburg, Larry E. SwindellJr. and wife Tina of Mt. Pleasant and Daniel J. Swindell and wife Melanie of Greensburg, her grandchildren Heather, Ashley and Cpl.Paul Sabo Jr.of Grindstone, Katelyne and Nathan Taylor of New York, Madison and Meghan Swindell of Mt. Pleasant, Alicia Monahan of Greensburg and Gabrielle and James Lishego Jr. both of Greensburg. Three great grandchildren Isabell and Cadance Thomas both of Grindstone and Leia Taylor of New York.

She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters Madeline Testa and husband Michael of Greensburg, Eugene Vallozzi of N.Jackson Ohio, Ann Wright and husband Alfred of Banger and Virginia Cammarata of Greensburg and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home,inc. 524 North Main St. Greensburg for a Memorial Service on Saturday from 1 to 3:30 PM, followed by a prayer service held with Msgr. Roger Statnick as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4727 Rte. 30, Suite 204 Berkshire Center Bldg. 1, Greensburg, PA 15601 or one's favorite charity in Elvira's memory.
