Fern Field

August 12, 1915 — October 31, 2014

Fern R. Field, 99 of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, passed away October 31, 2014 in Ark Twin Valley Personal Care Home.

She was born in Dowagiac, MI, daughter of Leslie and Laura (Evans) Fletcher .

Fern was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church for many years. She volunteered Bible School and sang in the church choir, doing duets with her husband. Fern enjoyed lunches at the McKenna Center and was part of the McKenna Serenaders. She was also one of the original members of the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra as a violinist. She and her husband were members of the Greensburg Country Club where she was an avid golfer, rarely missing a Wednesday golf game. Fern loved to travel in her and her husband's airstream and later camping with her son.



Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Everett J. Field, a son, Herbert Field and was the last surviving member of her siblings.

Surviving are her son, Douglas Field and wife, Cindy, daughter, Diane Parker and husband, Tim, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Fern's memory to the Open Door Baptist Church 970 N Main St, Greensburg, PA 15601.
