Florence Harvey

November 5, 1930 — December 29, 2014

Florence (Maxine) Harvey, 84 of Laughlintown, PA passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh.

She was born in Ligonier, the daughter of the late Eugene and Claire (McClune) Cairns.

She was a member of Laughlintown Christian Church. Maxine was a devoted, loving, and dedicated mother and grandmother to her five children and nine grandchildren. She derived much joy from time spent with them. Her interests included square dancing, doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and most of all cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. In recent years, she enjoyed spending winters at her home in New Smyrna Beach, FL with her husband, Stanton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, husband, Stanton L. Harvey and a brother, James Cairns.


Maxine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her children, Dr. Michael Harvey and wife, Cathryn of Spofford, NH, Todd Harvey and wife, Marian of Chesapeake City, MD, Jill Gaetano and husband, Barry of Greensburg, Susan Manser and husband, Don of Mullica Hill, NJ and Megan Harvey of Hamilton, NJ; her grandchildren, Damon, Jacob, Zachary, Jeremiah, Emily, Hannah, Allie, Molly, and Cameron; her brother, Earl Bud Cairns and wife, Grace of Ligonier, and sister-in-law, Mabel Jean Cairns of Ligonier.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm followed by a memorial service at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggest donations to the Laughlintown Community Center, P.O. Box 453, Laughlintown, PA 15655 or one's favorite charity in Maxine's name.
