Frances Olinger

Frances Ann (Weaver) Olinger, 93, of Greensburg, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Redstone Senior Care in Greensburg.  She was born August 19, 1929, in Ruffsdale, Pa. the daughter of the late Eli Burl and Maud E. Smith Weaver.  She was an active member of Trinity United Church. Of Christ for over 60 years, singing in the church choir and participating in the women’s group and numerous other activities.  She was a member of the Ruffsdale United Church of Christ womens’ guild.  She graduated from Heidelburg University in Tiffin, Ohio and taught English for several years at Ramsey Junior High School in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. after graduation.  She was happily married to Thomas D. Olinger for 50 years and was a loving mother to her two children, Ruth Ann Harris and Donald D. Olinger.  She enjoyed the company of a wide circle of family and friends and enjoyed reading a wide variety of books.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Olinger and her sister, Dorothy Dean Heck.  Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Harris and husband, Ted Harris of Boones Mill, Virginia; a son Donald D. Olinger and wife, Cynthia, of North Potomac, Maryland; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Patrick, David and Kathleen Carey and Leslie and Andrew Olinger; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Ann Olinger; a brother, Phillip (Sandy) Weaver of Irwin, Pa; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received Monday, August 29, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022  at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Shirley Musick officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs.  In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N.
