He was born June 25, 1939 in Duquesne, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Hlatt) Mihal.
Francis liked trains and belonged to railroading clubs. He like to travel and enjoyed a ranch in the Trinity Mountains in California. Later in life Francis loved fly fishing. He was a veteran of the Army. Francis enjoyed his weekly visits with canine companion, Shasta.
Prior to retirement, he worked as an Asphalt Specialist for Chevron Oil.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Pellegrino.
Surviving is his niece, Mary Piper. His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to his nurse, Deb; aide, Haley and all the other staff at Redstone Highlands and Redstone Hospice for their care of Francis.
There will be no public services.
