Frank "Fuzzy" Ferris, 83, of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
He was born on March 17, 1941, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Bertram R. and Dorothy (Shuman) Ferris.
Fuzzy graduated from California University of PA in 1963 and Duquesne University in 1969, where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity.
He dedicated 38 years to Special Education, 32 of those years as a Guidance Counselor. Frank was honored as the 2000 Pennsylvania Guidance Counselor of the Year. He served as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association and was a member of its executive board. Frank also coached midget football and baseball for 13 years with NCAA and was actively involved with Scouting for 20 years. Fuzzy was an avid fisherman.
Surviving is his brother Bert Ferris and his wife, Greta; his sons, Brian Ferris and his wife, Kim; Jeffrey Ferris; and Douglas Ferris and his wife, Carin. He’s also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Danielle, Dakota, Kassidy, Cole, Alex, Kalee, and Ben.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 31st, from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
Interment will be in Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park in Greensburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the PA School Counselors Association.
