Frederick T. 'Fred' Ligus, 58 of Hempfield Township passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was born May 16, 1958 in Greensburg, PA, a son of Edward G. Ligus, Sr. of Greensburg and the late Jane Smith Ligus. Fred was selfless and would help anyone without hesitation. He was a dedicated father and unwitting mentor. Fred was a member of the Youngwood Sportsmens Association and Camp Point Blank in Sterling Run, PA. Fred loved hunting and fishing and instilled this passion in his sons. He worked as a Technician for Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum USA in Export for 32 years but he was a farmer at heart. His loving kindness and spirit of adventure were great gifts to his wife and family. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Ryan Ligus; father, Edward G. Ligus, Sr.; sons, Adam Ligus (Carrie) of Hunker, Jared Ligus (Brandie) of Fredericktown, PA, and Nathan Ligus of Hempfield; stepson, Andrew Busch (Megan) of Asheville, NC; brothers, Edward G. Ligus Jr. (Stacy) of North Huntingdon and Eric Ligus (Dawn) of Forbes Road, PA; sister, Kim Huey (Keith) of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 10am until the time of service at 11am. Private interment will follow.
