George E. Maser

George E. Maser, 64, of Greensburg, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Johnstown, January 11, 1961, a son of Ralph “Fritz” Maser and Ella Jane (Beyer) Maser. Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Ella Jane; brother Gerald Maser; infant brothers, Stephen and Richard; niece, Amanda Mae Maser; nephew, Matthew Maser; special aunt, Theresa Beyer; and a number of other cherished aunts and uncles. George is survived by his wife Debra (Biggerstaff) Maser; son Louie Maser; daughter Kaitlyn Maser; stepdaughter Kristi Evenson-Ohr; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and generations of nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, George was a social worker at Torrance State Hospital, where he worked as a drug and alcohol counselor. George’s vocation extended to many other places like Adelphoi Village, Community Living Care, Southwest Secure Treatment Unit, and Gateway Rehab where he worked with youth and those affected by drug and alcohol addictions. George was dedicated to and involved in his children’s lives, starting by coaching their T-ball and softball teams. He loved all sports, especially baseball, and loved to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates. George was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received from 10 am until the hour of service at 11 am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in First Presbyterian Church, 300 South Main Street, Greensburg 15601. Flowers may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg, at the above address, or in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, in George’s memory.
