George Weinert, Jr

June 30, 1926 — March 9, 2010

George F. Weinert, Jr., 83 of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010. He was born June 30, 1926 in Pittsburgh a son of the late George Weinert, Sr. and Blanche Larue Bennett Weinert.

George was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg. He attended Alderdice High School and Conley Trade School. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked for Allegheny Power in the power plant division and Cabin Hill for 43 years and 9 months. He was also a 50 year mason having been a member of Philanthropy Lodge 225 Greensburg.

George was prededed in death by three sisters,Ruth Neff; Helen Harm and Jean Kaltenbaugh.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Doris Sommers Weinert; a sister, Shirley Booth of Opelika, AL; a brother, James E. Weinert of Chateau, Montana; and several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great-nephews.

Honoring George's wishes, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Main St. Greensburg on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11am with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 300 S. Main St. PO Box 1038 Greensburg, PA. 15601 or the American Heart Association 4727 Rte. 30 Greensburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. Greensburg, Pa.
