Geraldine Kubas

Geraldine (Gerry) Agnes Kubas, 83, of Greensburg, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. She was born on November 10, 1929 in Uniontown, daughter of the late Gerald and Elizabeth (Nesbit) Fordyce.

Gerry was married to the late John Kubas, on June 17, 1950. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Warren, and two brothers, David Fordyce and Robert Nesbit.

Prior to her retirement, Gerry worked as the hostess at the Hampton Inn Greensburg breakfast bar and in the banquet department at the Sheraton Inn in Greensburg.

She was a member of the Grand Lodge, Daughters of Scotia, Lady MacGregor Lodge, #73, where she served as a Past Chief Daughter.

Gerry will always be remembered in the hearts of those surviving her for her kindness, strength of mind and body, and wonderful smile.

Gerry is survived by three sons: Eric Kubas and his wife, Cheryl, Mark Kubas and his wife, Marcia, and Paul Kubas and his wife, Lisa. She was affectionately known as "bubka" to her 6 grandchildren: Wendee and her husband Andres Parker, Katie Kubas and her fiancAC. Joseph Broker, Jr., Dr. Marc and his wife, Kim Kubas, Zachary Kubas, Heather Kubas and Jon Paul Kubas and great grandson Joseph John Broker, III. She is also survived by three brothers and their wives: Donald (Marlene) Fordyce, Douglas (Cathy) Fordyce and Scott (Nancy) Fordyce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street Greensburg. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10am. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the love and care provided by the staff at Juniper Village Wellspring and Via Quest Hospice.
