Geraldine Russell

Geraldine Fesemyer Russell, 89, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, September 5, 2011, at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg. Born January 5, 1922, in Donora, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jesse (Gates) Fesemyer. She was married for nearly 65 years to the love of her life, John "Jack" Russell of Charleroi. They resided in many towns, settling mostly in Export and Harrison City. Together they raised six children: Marion Janet May (Walter Joseph) of Pleasant Hills, Mary Madelyn Huber (David) of Reading, Rosemary Russell of Pleasant Unity, John Walker Russell (Michelle Mock) of Destin, Florida, Bernadette Mary Russell of Point of Rocks, Maryland, and Beth Ann Uhrinek (David) of Latrobe. Geri loved nothing more than her family, with the Pittsburgh Steelers a close second. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, their six children, thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, her brother Arthur of Ravenna, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her five sisters, Ethel Russell of Donora, Loretta Kelly of Brookline, Helen Eisenberg of Donora, Frances Ninos of Donora, and Margaret Sellin of Richmond, Virginia. She was a faithful woman who touched the lives of many and she will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Geri's traditions of homemade pies, bread and soup will be passed along for generations. Family and friends will be received from 4 pm to 6 pm Wednesday at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home ,(an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church (Everyone go directly to the church). Interment will follow at Twin Valley Cemetery .
