Gertrude Phares

Gertrude Ruth Phares, 84 formerly of Greensburg passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon.

She was born August 18, 1925 in Greensburg, a Daughter of the late Merion F. and Ruth Shaffer Wible.

She was a life time member of the First Baptist Church, Greensburg and served in various capacities in the Church and was the First Honored Queen of Bethel #3, a member of the International Order of Job's Daughters; Former president of Greensburg Junior Women's Club, Past president of Westmoreland Regional Hospital Auxiliary; Past -Chairman of unit # 14; past manager of the Westmoreland Hospital Hospitality Shop .

Surviving are her loving husband, Carroll W. (Chris) Phares and her Daughter, Gretchen Phares Carpenter and husband Dennis, a Sister, Lois Ann Wible Solobay,and two Granddaughters, Kayla Ruth and Korinne Michelle Carpenter.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2-5 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Inc., 524 North Main St.,Greensburg.
A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home, on Friday at 11 AM .
Interment will be in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.
