Glenda Paxton

Glenda A. Paxton, 70 of Latrobe, passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born April 8, 1939 in Greensburg a daughter of the late Glenn and Elizabeth Gwynn Bush.

She was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and was formerly employed by Volkswagen, New Stanton. Most recently, she had been employed as executive secretary to Edward Harrel of the Tribune Review. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active on various church committees. In later years, she was a caretaker to both her parents. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Greensburg and Latrobe; a member of "Harrold's Western Squares" Square Dance Club; and an officer at Harrold's Grange. She was an eloquent reader with Seton Hill Universities Dead Poets Society and she took classes in computer, water color, pencil drawing and assisted on photographic shoots with her husband. She loved reading, entertaining at home and socializing with friends.

She is survived by her husband, William C. Paxton, II; two step-children, Laurel Paxton Rush and husband Dale of Washington, PA; and William C. Paxton, III of Owings Mills, MD; two brothers, Gary Bush and wife Dorothy of Wellsboro and Blaine Bush and wife Donna of Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an uncle Robert Graham and a cousin Donna Pfeffer.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg where services will be held Wednesday at 10 am with Pastor Douglas Heagy officating.. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church 246 S. Main St. Greensburg. Terence L. Graft, funeral director entrusted with the arrangements.
